Letters From the Heart

The page danced out of my hands as I typed the handwritten notes from my class this evening with Monique Toh. I am light, I am light, I am light. And I am color and I am texture. Blues and greens and flowers. Oranges and Yellows and Sunsets.

The things that are within you, near the surface, ready to surface. The things that are buried deep in the most authentic part of ourselves, behind something scary, like fear or insecurities. The things that compose the most authentic pieces of our selves. The things we yearn to discover, to experieince, to be. These are the things that Monique has shown to me. About myself.

Monique is an authentic, courageous woman who is willing to see those things within us that must be seen. Monique is a strong and loving woman who is able to see the bright shining light within each of us. She does not shrivel nor shy from the truth of another's beauty . . . but instead she absorbs and radiates the beauty back to us, in such a way as to show us "Look! This is You! And I am EXCITED to see YOU! Be This! Be You!"

The journey of finding and meeting Monique mirrors the journey that Monique has guided us through these last few weeks. At first I was skeptical, who is this Yogic Woman? Reading her words, her email, her gifts of wisdom . . . naturally attracted me to seek more. But. Was. She. Authentic. That was the fear, that the time and energy spent in class would be wasted. Worth. The. Risk. Remembering the authentic quality of the email, I took the step and enrolled in class. In just a few short weeks, I am meeting goals, setting habits that I can continue and keep, and am losing the fear. Weight lost, energy found, fear slowly fading . . techniques for each practiced, techniques practiced for eradicating the fear. But most of all, what makes this class unique, is Monique's ability to ask the right question, listen carefully to the answer, and reflect back to us the buried answer that we have been reaching for . . . allowing us to move forward sometimes in small steps, sometimes in unexpected leaps! Thank you Moninque for your energy and love, and for sharing your unique gifts with our class!
